Hey everyone, it’s Frank here and I want to enjoy everyone to one of my favor appetizers of the fall season. I love this salad it is a great starter during the beginning of the fall season. The apples are easily available for a good price and there is lots of variety to choose from. This salad + apples = deliciousness is purely simple and amazing. What I love about this salad is the tender, sweet butter leafs from other local farmers. I made this salad earlier today at NorthStar and Max had it last night as we were going over website stuff.
Tip: When making any organic salad make sure to throughly wash the leafs to get out any dirt.
The ingredients you will need for this recipe is as follows:
- 8 slices of apples (I prefer to use honey crisp apples but you can use whatever you have or is available to you)
- 2 tablespoons of smoked apple vinaigrette
- 1 oz of thinly sliced blue cheese
- 8 butter leaf leaves
- 1 tablespoon of red wine reduction
Take one small bowl and place the butter leaf leaves inside the bowl. Add 2 tablespoons of the smoked apples vinaigrette. Get your plate out and lay down 2 pieces of butter leaf leaves. Add the broken up sliced blue cheese over the salad (I like to rip it into 3 pieces at a time). Do the same with the apples and repeat the process until you run out of the ingredients. A little drizzle of red wine reduction over the top (1 tablespoon). This is a quick and easy appetizer salad that will impress your friends with great effin favor.
This salad was a favor explosion in my mouth and really got me excited to eat more. It is really great to have an appetizer that looks complex but can be made in a few minutes. This apple salad has my mouth watering just thinking about it. Even if I did not have the beautiful butter leaves I could eat this salad with iceberg.
